Executive Director: Arie Afriansyah
Arie Afriansyah is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia. Besides teaching duties, he is currently the Head of International Affairs Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia; Chairman, Center for International Law Studies; and Chief Editor for Indonesian Journal of International Law (www.ijil.ui.ac.id). Previously, he was the Chairman of Djokosoetono Research Center Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia; the Editor in Chief of Indonesia Law Review (www.ilrev.ui.ac.id), Co-Editor of Jurnal Hukum & Pembangunan (www.jhp.ui.ac.id).
He obtained his Bachelor in Law (Sarjana Hukum/SH) in August 2003 from Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia. In December 2006, he received the degree of Master of International Law (MIL) from the University of Sydney Law School, Australia. Finally, Arie obtained his Doctorate Degree in Law (Ph.D) at the Faculty of Law, University of Otago, New Zealand in August 2013.
Program Director: Aristyo Rizka Darmawan
Aristyo Rizka Darmawan is an Indonesian legal Academics and junior lecturer of International Law at Universitas Indonesia. He received Bachelor of Laws LL.B majoring in International Law from Universitas Indonesia and Master of Laws LL.M from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Aristyo work as the program director of Center for Sustainable Ocean Policy (CSOP) where he does involved in numerous consultancy and research work for the Indonesian Government and NGO’s such as; The Indonesian Coast Guard, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Oxfam Foundation. He has also involved as a project assistant for the Indonesian Presidential Task Force for Combating Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (IUUF). His research interest lies in the intersection of Public International Law, Third World Approach to International Law, Law of the Sea, and Law and Development.
General Affairs: Gita Ardi Lestari
Gita Ardi Lestari graduated from Universitas Airlangga majoring in International Relations. She finished her masters program of the same major in Universitas Indonesia, specified in International Security Studies. She is also a Managing Editor at Indonesian Journal of International Law (ijil.ui.ac.id). At the Center for Sustainable Ocean Policy, she is responsible for managing ongoing projects, research, and relevant academic events held under the research center. Her current research interests include sociolegal studies, gender studies, and feminism.
